Garrett Morris' Earl has a bird's eye view of all the goings on at the diner at the center of CBS' "2 Broke Girls" and on Monday's episode takes in more than he can handle.

As Earl, the diner's resident ladies man and DJ, Morris will finally see more than he can handle when he spies Jennifer Coolidge's Sophia dressed up for Valentine's Day and ends up heading to the hospital after suffering from a heart attack.

"It certainly would be interesting to see how and if that develops," Morris says of whether Earl has a future with Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline's (Beth Behrs) upstairs neighbor.

Judging from Earl's many quips about his love life, Morris notes that it's likely the character has plenty of options available to him when it comes to the fairer sex. "Earl has a lot in his background that would infer that a lot of options are available, with his jazz background, a couple of ex-wives," he says. "He's had a colorful life."

Morris -- who recently celebrated his 75th birthday -- says he felt like the role of an septuagenarian with a jazz background wasn't a stretch. "A lot of me automatically is Earl," the Julliard-trained actor says.

With a résumé that includes film, TV and Broadway, Morris says it's hard to pick one role that stands out. Instead he opts to focus on the roles where he most enjoyed the energy of the characters he played, including Broadway's "Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death"; the Sean Connery feature "The Anderson Tapes" and TV's "Martin" and "Jamie Foxx."

"2 Broke Girls" airs Mondays at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.
