The American Theatre Wing has announced the 67th Annual Tony Awards for June 9, to be held once again at Radio City Music Hall. The ceremony will air live on CBS.
CBS has aired the Tony Awards show, an event which honors theater professionals for achievements in Broadway productions, since 1978. As usual, the show will include a number of musical performances and celebrity guests. The awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. This year marks the show’s triumphant return to the iconic Radio City Music Hall after a two-year absence while the venue housed Cirque du Soleil’s “Zarkana.”
The cut-off date for eligible productions is Thursday, April 25. The nominees for the 2013 Tony Awards will be announced live on April 30 in New York City.
The general public will have the ability to purchase a limited number of tickets to the show this spring. Tickets will be made available at TonyAwards.com on April 30.
