The Emmys are roughly six months away and the Oscars are yesterday's news. Now it's time to celebrate the funny people with nominations for the second annual Comedy Awards.

"Modern Family" and "30 Rock" lead the nominations with five each. "Modern Family," which garnered the best comedy series award in 2011, is nominated again in the same category, along with "30 Rock," "Parks and Recreation," "Happy Endings," and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

"Bridesmaids" and "Crazy, Stupid, Love" received five nominations in the film categories. "Bridesmaids" stars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig are nominated in the best film actress category. Both received Academy Award nominations earlier this year, McCarthy for her performance and Wiig for her screenplay.

The awards show will be recorded at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on April 28. The ceremony will then premiere on Comedy Central on May 6; last year it also was broadcast on another Viacom channels.

The Comedy Awards board of directors, which boasts such well-known comedians such as Carol Burnett, Stephen Colbert, Conan O'Brien, Joan Rivers, Chris Rock, Ray Romano, and Jon Stewart, selected the nominees. Comedy industry professionals will pick the winners. Fans will also be able to vote online for their choice for breakout performer of the year. The nominees are Zooey Deschanel, Josh Gad, Donald Glover, Melissa McCarthy, and Jason Sudeikis.
