It's still not too late to sign up for Actorfest, that unique one-day conference, where you can learn about the business of show business. Sponsored annually by Back Stage, Actorfest offers a series of informative career seminars that help you negotiate the pitfalls of a life in the theatre, such as "How do I land that gig?" and "How do I get an agent?"
The event will be held on Sat., Nov. 11 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Marriott Marquis Hotel (1535 Broadway, between 44th and 45th).

For the $45 package you get admission to one career seminar, one focus session, and the exhibit hall. Tickets for the exhibit hall alone are $10. The exhibit hall features over 90 booths of industry professionals who offer services, classes, and products for the actor.
In addition to career seminars, like "Actors at Work: Getting and Doing the Job," there are 28 smaller focus sessions. Among the topics that will be covered: "Surviving the Audition Process" and "Making a Living in Stand-Up Comedy." The seminars and panels will feature working professionals in the business, and Back Stage Editor-in-Chief Sherry Eaker has produced most of the sessions.
Two well-known actors who will be speaking are GianCarlo Esposito (currently appearing on the new Fox television series, "The Street") and Andre De Shields (featured in the Broadway hit "The Full Monty").
