'American Hustle' and '12 Years a Slave' Scoop Up Golden Globe Noms

David O. Russell's film entered the awards race late, but "American Hustle" looks unstoppable. A day after scoring SAG Award nominations for Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams (plus an ensemble nod), the period film tied "12 Years a Slave" for the most Golden Globe noms with seven each.

There weren't many surprises in the film categories (except possibly Greta Gerwig's nod for "Frances Ha"), but the television nominations were an inspired shakeup of the usual nominees. Showtime had a very good year, seeing its "Masters of Sex" and "Ray Donovan" scoring multiple nods, while Netflix continued to prove a heavy-hitter when it comes to collecting nominations; in addition to a best drama series nomination for "House of Cards," Netflix actors Jason Bateman, Corey Stoll, Robin Wright, Kevin Spacey, and Taylor Schilling all saw their work recognized.
