An Evening with Paula Vogel
Have you ever wanted to spend a few hours with a Pulitzer Prize winner? Come on, you know you have, maybe while experiencing a literary high after finishing a good book. Well, now the Drama Book Shop is giving you a chance to make your dreams come true. Paula Vogel, who won the Pulitzer for "How I Learned to Drive," will be spending a whole evening—that's right, a whole evening—discussing her career. She has penned many plays, including "A Civil War Christmas," "The Long Christmas Ride Home," "The Mineola Twins," "The Baltimore Waltz," "Hot 'n' Throbbing," "Desdemona," "And Baby Makes Seven," and "The Oldest Profession." "Drive" is on the New York City stage for the first time in 15 years (now in previews at Second Stage). If that is not enough to entice you, the event is free and open to the public. Feb. 8, 5:30–7:30 p.m. The Drama Book Shop, 250 W. 40th St., NYC. (212) 944-0595.
