Kyra Sedgwick returns in “The Closer” tonight for its final six episodes on TNT, and she’s posted this special video saying farewell to the character she has played for seven seasons, Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson. The strange thing is, after winning the Emmy Award in 2010, she wasn’t even nominated in 2011. But with the show wrapping up this season, odds are good Sedgwick will score a nom this year.
Prior to “The Closer,” Sedgwick had appeared in a number of films, but she was always compulsively watchable. Like many female actors, she found a great home on television playing Brenda, who could veer from sugary sweet to tough as nails, sometimes in the same sentence. She’ll be missed when “The Closer” wraps up it’s run in August.
This new scripted comedy follows two twenty-something roommates as they attempt to simultaneously navigate the highs and lows of sobriety and adulthood
