Back Stage at the SAG Foundation Present 'Yes, And...The Improv Night'
On September 14, teachers from improv training centers iOWest, The Second City, The Groundlings, and Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles gathered to discuss all things improvisation in a Back Stage at the SAG Foundation panel event. Topics discussed included the different schools of thought on teaching improv, how improv class can help actors, how to find the school for you, and how the web has changed comedy.

"[The Internet] is such a great platform for comedy," said The Second City's Josh Funk. "It's the future for all of our theatres to find a place online."

It was one of the friendliest nights Back Stage at the SAG Foundation has seen. The teachers were really complimentary and supportive of each other. It was obvious there was a mutual admiration among them.

"I think the improv community in general here in L.A. is pretty welcoming to everybody," said UCB's Joe Wengert. "If you're here to learn and do hard work, I think that does get recognized."
