Exile International Theater Company will present a free presentation of Bertolt Brecht's 1939 play, "Mother Courage and Her Children" at the George Washing-ton statue in Union Square Park (at 3rd Ave. and 14th St.) on Nov. 1-3 every night at 8 pm.

One of Brecht's most respected plays, "Mother Courage" follows the exploits of the title character as she tries desperately to profit from the Thirty Years War while keeping herself and her children alive.

Founded in 1997 in London, Exile International Theater Com-pany is composed of members from England, France, and the United States.

Their presentation of Brecht's cautionary war tale is free of charge, although donations are gratefully accepted (all proceeds will benefit the Sept. 11 Fund).

Rain location: Culture Project, 45 Bleeker St. (at Lafayette), NYC. For more information, call (917) 586-2874.
