Steven Spielberg may have gotten a standing ovation, but it was Ben Affleck who took the top prize at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards Saturday night. This makes a clean sweep of the major guilds for "Argo," which won both the PGA Award and the ensemble prize at the SAG Awards last weekend. In his speech, Affleck remarked, "I don't this makes me a real director, but I think it means I'm on my way. The DGA Award is generally seen as a strong indicator of who will win the Academy Award; only six times since the awards began in 1948 have the DGA and Oscar winner not matched up. But Affleck is not nominated for an Oscar for directing; the only other directors nominated for a DGA Award and an Oscar are Steven Spielberg for "Lincoln" and Ang Lee for "Life of Pi."

On the TV side, Rian Johnson won for "Breaking Bad" in the drama category, while Lena Dunham won for helming the pilot for "Girls" in the comedy category. Jay Roach won for directing the TV movie "Game Change" for HBO.
