Benjamin King has joined the cast of "The Wedding Planners," David E. Kelley's new series for Fox.
Meanwhile, Australian actress Rachael Carpani is set to co-star opposite Janeane Garofalo in Barry Schindel's untitled drama pilot for CBS.
"Wedding Planners," from David E. Kelley Prods. and 20th Century Fox TV, revolves around three sisters -- Jane (Teri Polo), Sammy (Sarah Jones) and Annie (KaDee Strickland) -- who run a family wedding-planning business (HR 12/18).
King will play the wedding company's chief corporate officer, the businessman of the group who is happily married to Jane.
Kelley and Jonathan Pontell are executive producing "Wedding," which is slated to premiere in the spring. Jon Amiel is directing and executive producing the first episode of the series.
King, whose credits include NBC's original movie "Saving Jessica Lynch" and the pilots "Stroller Wars" for CBS and "Weekends" for NBC, is repped by Innovative Artists and manager Scott Howard.
The untitled Barry Schindel project, from CBS Paramount Network TV and studio-based Scott Free Prods., follows the lives, relationships, cases and careers of a team of public defenders. Carpani will play one of them.
Garofalo already has been cast as the quirky, sassy head of the public defender's office (HR 12/20).
Schindel penned the project and is executive producing with Scott Free's Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and David Zucker.
