Sachdev's sister and mother were also killed in the crash. They were traveling as part of a group of Indians who had chartered the flight for a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Muktinath in the Himalayas. A total of 15 people died in the accident; there are six survivors.
Prominent Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, who starred in the 2009 film "Paa" with Sachdev, paid tribute to the deceased actor on Twitter.
"SHOCKED and very saddened to hear about the Nepal plane crash. Lost 1 of my cutest co-stars. Little Taruni Sachdev from PAA. Speechless," Bachchan tweeted on Tuesday.
"Just reading that Taruni Sachdev the girl child artist in Paa, has perished in Nepal plane crash...please God may this not be true," actor Amitabh Bachchan tweeted earlier.
Sachdev was a rising child star in the Hindi and Malayalam film industries. She had been featured in many television advertisements and in films like "Vellinakshatram" and "Satyam," both of which were directed by her uncle, Vinayan T.G.
"She was an extraordinary child, full of life," Vinayan told the Times of India. "She was always with me all through 'Vellinakshatram.' It is shocking that she is no more."
And a couple of months ago, Sachdev was shooting a commercial when she called Vinayan and told him she wanted to be in his next film. "I told her that we will definitely meet to speak about it," Vinayan said. "She said, 'Thank you, uncle.' And those were her last words to me."
