To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, Broadway stars sang the Kander and Ebb song "New York, New York" in Times Square on Friday. The event, Broadway Unites: 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, was an encore of the performance that occurred a decade ago to inspire New Yorkers.
The singers included Joel Grey, Kara DioGuardi, and the casts of "The Book of Mormon" and "Billy Elliot." Their performance was in support of the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance's "I Will" campaign, which hopes to encourage millions to perform good deeds and volunteer in honor of the victims and survivors of Sept. 11.
