Casting directors are now attached to several new ABC comedies and dramas for the 2012-13 television season, Back Stage has confirmed.

Wendy O'Brien is casting "The Family Tools," a comedy starring Kyle Bornheimer as a man who has to put his dreams of opening a restaurant on hold when his father (J.K. Simmons) leaves him in charge of the family handyman business. The series will shoot in Los Angeles; production dates are TBD. O'Brien also cast the pilot, which was originally titled "White Man Van" when it was shot in L.A. earlier this year.

Sheila Guthrie and Suzanne Goddard-Smythe, who recently partnered to form a new casting office called Guthrie/Goddard-Smythe Casting, will cast "Malibu Country." The comedy stars Reba McEntire as a former country singer who divorces her no-good husband and moves her family from Nashville to Malibu. Lily Tomlin and Sara Rue also star in the series, which will shoot in L.A. Guthrie and Goddard-Smythe cast the pilot, as well.

Susan Vash is casting "The Neighbors," a comedy about a family who moves into a new neighborhood but discovers that the neighbors are actually aliens. Both the pilot and series are filmed in Los Angeles. The show was created by Dan Fogelman ("Crazy, Stupid, Love.") and was formerly known as "Untitled Dan Fogelman Project." Vash also cast the pilot.

New York casting director Suzanne Ryan has taken over casting for "666 Park Avenue," a drama in which the managers of a historic New York City apartment building begin to experience supernatural phenomena. The pilot was cast by Patrick J. Rush in Los Angeles. Both the pilot and series are filmed in New York.

Casting directors Rebecca Mangieri and Wendy Weidman of Creative Casting cast the pilot and will take over casting duties for the series "Last Resort," a drama in which the crew of a nuclear submarine defies an order to deploy its payload and declares itself the world’s tiniest nuclear-armed sovereign nation. Andre Braugher, Autumn Reeser, Daisy Betts, and Scott Speedman star in the show, which will shoot in Hawaii.

Cathy Sandrich Gelfond of Mackey/Sandrich Casting will cast "Red Widow," a new drama based on a Dutch show and starring Radha Mitchell as a woman who must assume her late husband’s role running a crime syndicate in order to protect her family. Sandrich Gelfond also cast the pilot, which was shot in Vancouver under its former title, "Penoza."

And after casting the pilot episode, Jeanie Bacharach will cast "Nashville," a primetime soap that is set in Music City. The show stars Connie Britton as a legendary country singer who fights to keep her place in the spotlight while a rising star (Hayden Panettiere) wants to knock her off the throne. The pilot and series are shot on location in Nashville, Tenn.
