The pair worked together on Season 5 of BET comedy “The Game.” (The previous season had been cast in-house at BET by Robi Reed.) They also cast the ABC comedy pilot “Malibu Country,” starring country singer Reba McEntire as a former country singer who moves her family from Nashville to Malibu after divorcing her shiftless husband. That pilot was picked up to series last month, but there is no official word on whether they’ll cast the series when it starts production later this year. Currently, the new office is casting Disney Channel pilot “Bits & Pieces” ahead of a late-June start.
Both also have currently airing shows that they will continue to cast individually. Guthrie is casting Season 2 of “The Exes” for TV Land, while Goddard-Smythe is casting SyFy series “Alphas” and “Warehouse 13,” as well as new Disney Channel series “Crash and Bernstein.” Her other project, Disney Channel musical comedy “Shake It Up!” is on hiatus.
