Three more drama pilots from NBC have secured the services of casting directors, Backstage has learned.
“The Sixth Gun,” based on the comic created by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt, will be cast by Laura Schiff and Carrie Audino. The comic book series is set on the Western frontier shortly after the end of the Civil War. When a lost mythical gun resurfaces in the possession of a young girl, dark forces will stop at nothing to obtain it. In addition to the series “Mad Men,” “Nikita,” and “Touch,” Schiff/Audino is also casting the AMC pilot “Turn.” A shoot date and location for “Sixth Gun” has not been determined.
Casting team Rick Pagano and Debi Manwiller will cast pilot “The Blacklist,” about the world's most-wanted criminal, who turns himself in and offers to help the FBI track down his accomplices — on the condition that he be allowed to work with a new agent with whom he has no apparent connection. Plans are to shoot the pilot in March in New York and Washington, D.C
Finally, the untitled drama pilot from Rand Ravich — writer/executive producers of the NBC drama “Life,” which ran for two seasons from 2007–2009 — will be cast by Robert Ulrich of Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer. It chronicles the trial by fire of a newly minted CIA agent who finds himself at the center of an internation crisis his first day on the job. This is the third pilot for UDK this season, as the office is also casting the cast-contingent sci-fi drama “Horizon” for USA Network and the ABC drama pilot “Doubt.” Shoot date and location have not been set.
