Second City Entertains Overseas Troops
The USO (United Service Organizations) and Armed Forces Entertainment are sending members of The Second City, Chicago's legendary improv comedy theatre, to entertain troops in the Balkans and Europe this January.
This trip is The Second City's third USO tour, with performances featuring material from the theatre's 40-year history, as well as improvisations that change with each show. Cast members will also sign autographs, visit military installations, and mingle with the troops.
Breadline Pushes Back "Angels" Opening
Electrical difficulties have caused Breadline Theatre Group to push the world premiere opening date of "This Side of Angels" back one week, to Thursday, January 30. The show had previously been scheduled to open on January 23.
"This Side of Angels," by Paul Kampf, will run at Breadline Theatre through March 2, 2003.

Raven Theatre Extends "Marvin's Room"
Raven Theatre will extend its production of "Marvin's Room" by Chicago playwright Scott McPherson through Saturday, February 8, 2003. Four additional performances will be held beyond the previous closing date of January 25, on January 31 and February 1, 7, and 8.
The award-winning play, about tenuous family ties strained by illness, premiered at the Goodman Studio Theatre in 1990, and won the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Work. It then garnered the 1991-92 Outer Critics Circle Award and the 1992 Drama Desk award.
