"Glee's" Criss is not only replacing the "Harry Potter" star in Broadway's "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," but he also played Radcliffe's "Harry Potter" character in a spoof musical, "A Very Potter Musical," that went viral in 2010.
Even with all these strange connections, the two talents had never met – until recently.
"We have met. I can confirm, we have met," Radcliffe told MTV News. "Somebody showed me a very doctored photograph of our meeting; there were no photographs at our meeting, so if that's what people are interested in, they're going to be disappointed."
Radcliffe added that he had a "lovely chat" with Criss, but didn't give him any advice for handling the lead role of J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway show. Criss is starring in the show for three weeks, beginning his run on Jan. 3.
Then, Nick Jonas will take over the role from January 24 through July 1. Radcliffe had also spoken to Jonas about the role as well.
"I gave him my number and same with Nick Jonas and said, you know, 'Contact me if you've got anything to ask. I'm always around,'" said Radcliffe. He also shared a joke that's been passed along throughout the show's history from Robert Morse to Matthew Broderick and then on the Radcliffe. "So that's become sort of a legacy joke now, which is nice."
