EPA, "CRAZY FOR YOU," NC

3/10 from 9:30AM-5:30PM at the AEA Audition Center, 165 W. 46 St., 2nd fl., NYC.

Eligible performer auditions will be held for an East Carolina Playhouse production of "Crazy for You, " by George and Ira Gershwin (rehearsals begin June 9 in Greenville, NC, at the McGinnis Theatre on the campus of East Carolina University; show runs June 24-28). Ken Ludwig, book; Norb Joerder, dir.; Suzanne Kaszynski, choreo.; John Shearin, artistic dir./prod'r; Gary Faircloth, managing dir. Auditions will be held at the AEA Audition Center, 165 W. 46 St., 2nd fl., NYC. Bring a prepared song to sing. Auditionees may be asked to read from the script. Seeking--Lank Hawkins: male, 30s, volatile, "the bad guy," tall, dark, lean, very quick tempered; Irene Roth: female, late 20s, tall, dark, leggy, very upscale, exceptional dancer-singer-actress; Tess: female, 30s, forthright, in-charge, brassy, great dancer, strong belt voice; Patsy: female, 20s, quintessential "show blonde," high, squeaky speaking voice, excellent dancer-singer; Moose: male, dancer-singer-actor, cowboy, huge, tall, slow-witted, ability to play stand-up bass a plus; Mingo: male, singer-dancer-actor, cowboy, wary, quick-witted, personable.

GRAND CANYON SHAKESPEARE FEST.

Grand Canyon Shakespeare Festival will be holding eligible performer auditions in NYC, by appointment only. The NYC eligible-only auditions will be held on Mon. March 10 from 10AM-6PM at Musical Theatre Works, 440 Lafayette St., Studio 4D, NYC. Send 8x10s and resumes to: Joe Turner Cantu, associate artistic director, GCSF, NAU, Box 6040, Flagstaff, AZ 86011. If interested, GCSF will call to set up audition time. A two-minute audition is requested with at least one piece in verse. Singers include a verse from a song. Singers are asked to bring a cassette tape for accompaniment. Tape player will be provided. Singers who can accompany themselves with an acoustical instrument preferred. The July-August performance schedule includes "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Romeo and Juliet," and "Smoke on the Mountain," the new gospel comedy musical by Connie Ray, Alan Bailey, Mike Craver, and Mark Hardwick. Summer employment for professional company and artistic/production staff includes salary, housing, and meals. Company is called on May 26. Grand Canyon Shakespeare Festival is a professional Equity theatre affiliated with Northern Arizona University. Production and shop positions are also available. EPA, "THE WIZARD OF OZ"

2/28 & 3/4 from 10AM-1, 2-6PM at Hughes Moss Casting, 311 W. 43 St., Suite 700, NYC.

Eligible performer auditions will be held for the Theatre at Madison Square Garden's production of "The Wizard of Oz," based on the screenplay (rehearses from April 10; runs the four weeks of May, up to 12 performances a week). Madison Square Garden Productions, Tim Hawkins, prod'rs; Robert Johanson, dir.; Jeff Rizzo, mus'l dir.; James Rocco, choreo; Hughes Moss Casting, casting. Auditions will be held at the offices of Hughes Moss Casting, 311 W. 43 St., Suite 700, NYC. Come prepared with sheet music appropriate to the style of the show.
