This one-hour session allows individual casting directors to share their personal approaches to their work and offer advice on getting called in and called back. So come armed with your headshot/resume and best questions!
Mark Saks' casting credits include pilots, series, miniseries, and theatre. His series credits include Numb3rs (also pilot), Related, Hack, and Medium. As senior vice president for talent and casting at Sony Pictures, he supervised casting for The Guardian, Strong Medicine, Dawson's Creek, and Joan of Arcadia. As vice president for talent and casting at CBS, he supervised pilots and series including Judging Amy, Family Law, The King of Queens, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He has received Artios Award nominations for his television work.
He cast the feature films Went to Coney Island on a Mission From God...Be Back by 5 and Defending Your Life (partial credit). He served as West Coast casting consultant for such Broadway productions as Damn Yankees and The Goodbye Girl at the Marquis Theatre, Jake's Women at the Neil Simon Theatre, and Lost in Yonkers at the Richard Rodgers. At San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, his (partial) credits include Twelfth Night for director Laird Williamson, Blues in the Night for Sheldon Epps, and Hamlet for Jack O'Brien.
