Hitting the Right Notes: How to Get a Callback at a Musical Theatre Audition

Preparation and flexibility are two necessities to a successful musical audition. In this session you'll learn how to make the most of your audition.  Please bring one ballad or song to workshop with.

SPEAKER BIO

Michael Cassara, CSA, is a casting director working on theatre, film and television projects in New York City. His office serves as the resident casting office for the New York Musical Theatre Festival, the White Plains Performing Arts Center, the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts, the Kitchen Theatre Company, and Central City Opera in addition to casting innumerable readings, workshops and developmental productions in New York and beyond each year.

Some recent theatre projects include …Forum (Sondheim Center, starring Richard Kind), End Days (by Deborah Zoe Laufer, starring Amy Aquino), Perez Hilton Saves The Universe (or at Least the Greater Los Angeles Area) in FringeNYC, Camelot (WPPAC, starring Robert Cuccioli) and over thirty shows in NYMF since its inception in 2004.

Upcoming projects include Kingdom (workshop at The Public Theatre and the Old Globe) and White Noise (Broadway - Fall, 2009). Michael teaches musical theatre performance in New York City and at colleges and universities throughout the world. He is a member of the Casting Society of America.
