Isabelle Huppert to Recieve Stockholm Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award

COLOGNE, Germany - French acting legend Isabelle Huppert will add to her swelling shelf of lifetime achievement trophies this November when she will be honored by the Stockholm International Film Festival with its Bronze Horse award. Huppert will attend the Swedish fest, which runs Nov. 9-20, and will participate in a Q&A session.

Stockholm will be the second European festival this year that has so honored Huppert. Earlier this month, she picked up the Excellence Award from the Locarno Film Festival for her life's work, which has ranged from her harrowing portrayal of a masochist in Michael Haneke's "The Piano Teacher" to the campy comedy of Francois Ozon's "8 Women" to roles in U.S. productions including David O. Russell's I Heart Huckabees and Michael Cimino's "Heaven's Gate."

Huppert already has a trophy-chest of lifetime honors, including gongs from festivals in San Sebastian (2003), Venice (2005), Montreal and Moscow (both 2008). In 2009 the European Film Academy presented here with its top honor, for outstanding achievement in world cinema.
