Just be yourself! What does that mean? How do you do it? Isn't the point of acting to become somebody else? This workshop will not only answer these important questions but you will learn all about typecasting, industry trends and what CDs, agents, and directors are really looking for.

As a result of the exercises in this workshop you will leave with a list of looks, types, and roles that you will most likely be seen for and finally understand how you fit in. You will discover what makes you unique from every other actor and explore how to make your uniqueness an integral part of your marketing plan.

You'll also learn about branding and how the best actors and P.R. firms use it to their advantage. Finally, you'll explore one of the most important tools in the actor's arsenal: the headshot. Learn from this award winning photographer, actor and image consultant, Mark Atteberry, the secrets to getting a great headshot that works!

SPEAKER BIO

Mark Atteberry

Mark Atteberry began his career in the entertainment industry as a marketing expert, graphic designer, and photographer but quickly found himself drawn to the world of acting. As such Atteberry's feature film work ranges from indies such as "The Butterfly Circus" and "Stained" (for which he received his first best actor nomination) to blockbuster hits such as "Hulk."

Atteberry's television work includes "The Shield," "24," "Nip/Tuck," "The Closer," "The Mentalist," "Big Love," "Dexter," "Criminal Minds," and "Justified." Atteberry can be seen in theaters in Miranda July's "The Future" and on HBO's "Luck" and "House M.D."

Atteberry is also an award-winning photographer, internationally known for his advertising, documentary, and headshot work. His clients include NBC, CBS, A&E, Bravo, CAA, ICM, WME, Venice Magazine, and Big Lots.

In 2005 he was chosen by Back Stage West readers as one of the best headshot photographers in Los Angeles, and in 2010 he was honored by the Photography for Social Change Foundation as one of the top 100 documentary-style photographers.

Atteberry regularly teaches and lectures on the topics of "Branding and Type" and "How to Succeed in the Entertainment Industry." He has written or co-written several books on the subject, including "The Working Actor's Guide" and "The Stunt Guide."
