Los Angeles Improv Comedy Festival

Watch comedy troupes create brilliantly funny sketches or abjectly fail to do so -- that's the thrill of improvisation. Shows in the June 7-9 fest include an improvised version of a "Doctor Who" episode, an ad-libbed musical starring Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, and the group Those Who Oppose Us Will Stand Knee Deep in the Blood of Their Children. iO West, 6366 Hollywood Blvd., L.A. 7 p.m. $5-$25. www.ioimprov.com.
