FEATURE FILMS

American Nights (Drama). A struggling bus driver takes pity on a pregnant teen with nowhere to go and offers her shelter for the night. * NEW Bad Teacher (Romantic Comedy). Footloose (Musical/Remake). A city kid moves to a conservative town where his love of rock music disrupts the high school and sends the local preacher on a mission to shut him down. Love, Barack (Romantic Comedy). The often verbally heated presidential campaign trail proves to be a hotbed for romance as well when a liberal Obama supporter finds himself falling for a sexy, conservative Republican. * NEW Pretend Wife (aka Holiday in Hawaii, Comedy). A man's girlfriend forces his hand when, after telling her he's married with a family in order to avoid a real commitment with her, she wants to meet the wife and kids to prove he's telling the truth. Prisoners (Drama/Thriller). After his 6-year-old daughter and her friend are kidnapped, a small-town handyman butts heads with the brash detective in charge of the investigation. Angry and frustrated with the detective's inaction, the man eventually takes justice into his own hands, tracking down the person he believes is responsible. Directed by Antoine Fuqua. Sunset Riders (Western/Drama). In the soon-to-be-tamed Wild West of the early 1900s, a pair of out-of-work cowboys head west to make a living as extras in motion pictures. Directed by Damon O'Steen. True Grit (Western/Remake). A feisty 14-year-old girl sets out to find the man who killed her father and hires a one-eyed, whiskey-chugging, fast-shooting curmudgeon of a marshal to help her out. Jack & Dan (Dramedy, Fox). Jack, a clean-cut, ambitious, by-the-book cop works the small-property-crime division of the LAPD with Dan, an old-school out-of-control wack job and computerphobe who sticks around, hanging onto the heroic glory days of his past. Accidentally on Purpose (Comedy, CBS). Caprica (Science fiction, Syfy). This prequel to "Battlestar Galactica" takes place 50 years earlier and follows the evolution of the Cylons when the colonies were at peace. Told from the perspective of two families, the Graystones and the Adamas, the series explores themes of corporate control, politics, and the impact of emerging technologies. Community (Comedy). "The Soup" host Joel McHale stars as Jeff Crocker, a smooth-talking lawyer who is forced to return to community college when his undergrad degree is revoked. Dark Blue (Drama/Crime, TNT). The cops in an undercover LAPD crime-fighting unit struggle to do their jobs honestly, despite the rampant corruption around them. Day One (Sci-fi, NBC). In the aftermath of the global devastation of the world's infrastructures, a small group of surviving neighbors in a Van Nuys, Calif., apartment complex works to rebuild society and solve the question of what happened in the first place. The Forgotten (Drama/Crime, ABC). A group of dedicated amateur detectives, the members of the all-volunteer Identity Network, attempt to reconstruct the pieces of nameless victims' lives from what little evidence is left behind. Gigantic (Dramedy, Nickelodeon). Life Unexpected (Drama, CW). Men of a Certain Age (Comedy). Hourlong comedy about a trio of 40-something former college buddies going through their respective midlife crises. The Middle (Comedy, ABC). Life may not be glamorous or showy for Frankie, but she's at home in the place where family comes first and folks do whatever it takes to keep that family together. Modern Family (Comedy, ABC). An international filmmaker documents the lives of three families: one with a stay-at-home dad, another in which a gay couple experience first-time fatherhood with the adoption of a Vietnamese child, and the third in which a 60-year-old man becomes an instant dad when he marries a 30-something Latina mother. NCIS: Los Angeles (Drama, CBS). Royal Pains (NY) (Drama/NBC). Rubicon (Drama, AMC). Shark Tank (Reality, ABC). Inspired by the successful Japanese reality format, this competition-based show follows wannabe entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas to wealthy, established executives ("The Sharks") with the hope they will secure funding and make their burgeoning dreams a reality. SGU: Stargate Universe (Sci-fi, SyFy Channel).
