The agreement between the Met and Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians was reached early Monday. Both sides say it came a few hours after the last contract expired.
Last week, the opera house reached agreement with the union representing its singers, dancers and stage managers.
A new contract agreement between the Met and its stagehands union remains to be settled.
The Metropolitan Opera has been staging performances since 1883. It stages more than 200 opera performances in the city each season. More than 800,000 people attend.
