"Million Dollar Quartet," the musical based on a famous recording session with Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins is finally closing after a combined run of 901 performances from its Off-Broadway and Broadway engagements. The Off-Broadway run at New World Stages ends June 24. Though the New York engagement is over, the Chicago production is still going strong at the Apollo Theatre and the national tour continues. Open calls for the tour and the Chicago production will be held on the following dates: June 14 (Las Vegas), June 24 (Los Angeles), and June 27 (Austin, Texas). For more information, visit www.milliondollarquartetlive.com/audition.html. Casting director for the tour and the Chicago production is Telsey + Company.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced casting for a Broadway production of "Cyrano De Bergerac," Edmond Rostand's romantic classic last seen on Broadway in 2007 with Kevin Kline in the lead. The production joins Roundabout's previously announced Main Stem productions for the 2012-13 season - "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," "The Big Knife," and "Picnic." Rehearsals begin Aug. 14. Performances are set to begin Sept. 14 for a limited run at the American Airlines Theatre. Jim Carnahan and Carrie Gardner are casting the show, and Equity principal auditions will be held on June 1, 2, and 3. According to the Equity casting notice, the title role has been cast, and they are only seeking an understudy. However, all other roles are open. Here is a link to the Back Stage casting notice.

UPDATE: "A Christmas Story," the musical based on the cult 1983 comedy, is coming to Broadway for a limited run during the holiday season (Nov. 6-Dec. 30). Stephanie Klapper is the casting director. Equity principal auditions will be held June 11, 12, and 13. Equity chorus calls will be held for dancers on June 7 and for singers on June 8.

"Prince of Broadway," the revue chronicling the career of legendary director-producer Harold Prince, is back on schedule, but a bit later than originally anticipated. The show with co-direction and choreography by Susan Stroman will now open in the fall of 2013 rather than November of 2012 as previously announced. This could mean more opportunities for casting since the actors who were previously hired might have to take other jobs. Keep your eyes open for future casting notices. Tara Rubin is the casting director on the project.
