Networks Announce Fall Series Casting Directors

The studios are currently in the process of contracting casting directors to handle their newly picked-up series, and Back Stage was able to confirm several attachments. Unless otherwise noted, all shows will shoot in Los Angeles.

For ABC, Rebecca Mangieri and Wendy Weidman of Creative Casting will cast drama "Last Resort," about the crew of a submarine that declares itself the world's tiniest nuclear-armed sovereign nation. The show will shoot in Hawaii. Jeanie Bacharach will cast "Nashville," a primetime soap set in the world of country music that follows two stars, one at the top and one on the rise. It will shoot in Nashville. Cathy Sandrich Gelfond of Mackey/Sandrich will cast crime drama "Red Widow," about a woman who assumes her late husband's role running a crime syndicate. "Widow" will shoot in Vancouver, B.C. Suzanne Ryan will cast drama "666 Park Avenue," about the managers of a historic apartment building who begin to experience supernatural phenomena. It will shoot in New York. Wendy O'Brien will cast comedy "The Family Tools," about a man whose dreams are put on hold when his father leaves him in charge of the family handyman business. Sheila Guthrie and Suzanne Goddard-Smythe will cast comedy "Malibu Country," about a former country singer who moves from Nashville to Malibu. And Susan Vash will cast comedy "The Neighbors," about a family who moves into a new condo only to discover that all of their neighbors are aliens.

For CBS, Julie Ashton will cast comedy "Partners," which focuses on the lifelong friendship between two business partners, one straight and one gay. Sheila Jaffe and Gail Goldberg will cast "Vegas," a period drama focusing on Ralph Lamb, a Las Vegas sheriff during the '60s who fought to release the city from organized crime's stranglehold. It will shoot in New Mexico. "Elementary," a modern take on the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, will be cast by Mark Saks. Finally, Julie Tucker and Ross Meyerson will cast "Made in Jersey," about a lawyer with a blue-collar background who nonetheless flourishes at a white-shoe law firm. Both dramas will shoot in New York.

Tucker/Meyerson will also cast Fox drama "The Following," about a serial killer who uses social media to find victims. Another Fox drama, "The Mob Doctor," about (surprise) a doctor who works for the mob, will be cast by Jennifer Cooper. The show will shoot in Chicago. On the comedy side, Jeanne McCarthy will cast "The Mindy Project," about a female ob-gyn who struggles to handle issues both personal and professional. And Marisa Ross will cast "Goodwin Games," about three siblings whose rivalry reaches new heights when their father dies and they have to divvy up the inheritance.

On to the CW. David Rapaport will cast "Arrow," a series adaptation of DC Comics' "Green Arrow" books. Scott Genkinger will cast "Emily Owens, M.D.," about a surgical intern who finds the social environments of high school and her new hospital disturbingly similar. Both shows will shoot in Vancouver, B.C. Sari Knight and Mandy Sherman will cast "Beauty and the Beast," a reboot of the 1980s series in which the classic fairy tale is re-imagined through the relationship between a New York D.A. and a beast who lives in a secret world beneath the city. It will shoot in Toronto.

NBC's "Revolution," a drama set in a world where electrical devices have ceased to operate, will be cast by April Webster and Erica Silverman. It will shoot in Wilmington, N.C. Lastly, Donna Rosenstein will cast "Save Me," a comedy about a woman who establishes a direct line of communication with God after a near-death experience.
