Celebration's New Artistic Director

Richard Israel has been named new artistic director of West Hollywood's Celebration Theatre. Israel comes to the theatre after five years as managing director of the West Coast Ensemble, having directed and produced such award-winning shows as Company (1997) and Cabaret (1998). He also directed an original musical development program.

Along with Israel's appointment, Jill Moore has been named managing director. Founder and former artistic director of Chicago's Porchlight Theatre, she has also served as staff producer at West Coast Ensemble, where her credits include the original musical Macabaret and the upcoming production of Vanishing Point.

Israel and Moore will assume their new duties at the Celebration Theatre on Aug. 1.
