Off-Off-Broadway Theater Launches New Residency

The Flea Theater announced Friday the launch of a new program that will give a home to Off-Off-Broadway theater companies seeking production space. The Anchor Partner program is set to kick off in the fall.

"These partnerships will allow us to present much more exceptional work to many more enthusiastic audiences," producing director Carol Ostrow said in a written statement. "It's a true win for the indie theater community."

The Flea said it will make decisions based on whose work it feels would benefit from consistent use of one of its theaters. To earn Anchor Partner status, theater companies must have a proven production record for at least three consecutive years and demonstrate an ability to run a show of at least 16 performances.
