Emily Rosenfeld, Tyrah Skye Odoms, Junah Jang, Georgi James, Madi Rae DiPietro, Taylor Richardson will be Molly, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, and Duffy respectively. Jaidyn Young will stand by for Annie, Pepper, Duffy, and July. Richardson will understudy Annie.
“We saw so many wonderful young girls for these roles,” producer Arielle Tepper Madover said in a release. “I wish we could have cast them all!
With more than 5,000 girls auditioning for the roles, Jang, Rosenfeld, and Richardson each caught the casting director’s eye at an open call. Rosenfeld, Odoms, Jang, DiPietro, Richardson, and Young are all making their Broadway debuts in the show. James previously appeared on Broadway as Debbie in “Billy Elliot” and in “A Tale of Two Cities.”
“The orphans are always a highlight of 'Annie' and we think we have an amazing, unbelievably talented group,” Madover said. “I think audiences will fall in love with each and every one of them.”
The revival will be directed by Tony-winner James Lapine, choreographed by Tony-winner Andy Blankenbuehler. The production is set to premiere in Fall 2012 at a Nederlander theater to be announced.
