Alone Productions is casting for an Equity showcase production of "Ourselves Alone," Anne Devlin's play that examines issues of family and political loyalty in the chaos of Northern Ireland. Martha Demson, dir. Rehearsals Dec. 4-Jan. 10 (actors will have Dec. 23-Jan. 4 off for the holidays); runs Jan. 11-28 at The Producers Club II. Seeking—Josie: 20s, IRA courier; Frieda: 20s, Josie's sister and a singer, wants out of Ireland; Donna: 30s, friend to both sisters, awaiting Liam's release from prison; Malachy: father, IRA; Liam: brother to Josie and Frieda, Donna's common-law husband; Joe Conran: an Englishman; John McDermot: member of the Workers Party. Auditions will be held Sun. Nov. 19 from 11AM-4PM (sign-up begins 10:30AM, do not come earlier) at Eighth Ave. Studios, 939 Eighth Ave., NYC. Callbacks will be the following day. Prepare a two-minute monologue of your choice (it does not have to be from the play) and a short piece of verse in dialect. Northern Irish prefered, but any British Isles will be accepted.
