Seeking—James: 50, British, art restorer and scholar, attractive and reserved, his life is at a standstill until he meets Kate, a younger woman who pursues him, astonished that she desires him, he discovers within himself deep passion and conflicting feelings that lead to crisis in his marriage; Eleanor: 45-50, British, James' beautiful, slightly complacent wife, choral singer and music expert, receives a brutal wake up call upon learning her husband is having an affair; Jim: 50, British, James' witty, energetic, astute, alter-ego who represents his true inner-self; Nell: 45-50, British, Eleanor's strong, warrior-like alter-ego who expresses her true inner-self; Kate: 25-30, British, full of confidence and shameless sexuality, her determined pursuit of James seduces him; Agnes: 50ish, British, close friend of Eleanor, attractive, sophisticated, witty, sharp-tongued, bitter because her now deceased husband had left her for Kate, a much younger woman, her vendetta against Kate leads her to inform Eleanor that James is now Kate's lover too.
