Actor Jonathan Pryce, who recently succeeded John Lithgow in the long-running Broadway hit Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, is joining musician Sting in the cast of "Twin Spirits", a single-performance benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, are set to portray composers Robert Schumann and his wife, Clara Wieck, reading and performing the couples' intimate words, music, and shared passions.
Pryce, whose credits include numerous dramatic, comedic, and song-and-dance roles, will narrate the work, which was written and directed by John Caird, co-director of Les Misérables.
Additional performers include Barbara Bonney, soprano, Thomas Meglioranza, baritone, and Jeremy Denk and Natasha Paremski, pianists.
The event will take place Monday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m., at the New Victory Theater, located at 229 W. 42nd St., 10th floor. Tickets, which include a VIP after-show party, start at $150 and are available at www.broadwaycares.org.
