“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson has been cast in the upcoming film “Hold On To Me,” starring Carey Mulligan as a femme fatale who kidnaps and ransoms her town’s richest man. Pattinson’s part, as Mulligan’s love interest who is not involved in the crime, is described as a “flashy supporting role.”
Hailee Steinfeld stars as a wild teen and Kristen Wiig plays her nanny, with Guy Pearce as her absent recovering addict father and Nick Nolte as her grandfather, in “Hateship, Friendship,” an indie dramedy that begins shooting this week in New Orleans.

Jim Carrey is in negotiations to star as the leader of a group of guards who pull off a heist in “Loomis Fargo,” an action comedy based on a real armored car robbery. The film will be produced by Lorne Michaels and directed by Jared Hess (“Napoleon Dynamite”).
Mike Epps will play comedian Richard Pryor in “Nina,” a biopic of jazz singer Nina Simone starring Zoe Saldana as the High Priestess of Soul.
Meanwhile, in television news, Gina Torres has joined the cast of NBC’s “Silence of the Lambs” prequel series “Hannibal,” in which she’ll play the wife of her real-life husband, Lawrence Fishburne.
