SAG Awards Open Submissions
Submissions for the 16th annual SAG Awards are being accepted now through Oct. 28, awards committee chair JoBeth Williams announced recently. Actors can submit their own work from 2009, and producers, studios, networks, and talent representatives may, with the actor's permission, submit performances for consideration. For the complete rules, go to www.sagawards.org/rules.

The SAG Awards, given for outstanding performances in motion pictures and prime-time television, are the only top acting honors whose winners are selected entirely by their peers. The nominations are decided by two panels—one for television and one for film—each composed of 2,100 members randomly selected in April. The nominees will be announced Dec. 17, and the ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 2, 2010.
