The Screen Actors Guild Foundation announced June 14 the creation of the Beki Pastor Fund, which will provide financial support for the foundation’s programming. The fund was made possible by a $25,000 donation from Joan Pastor, in honor of her sister, Beki.
“My family has strong roots in the arts and entertainment world,” Joan said in a written statement. “The Beki Pastor Fund was established at the SAG Foundation as a way to honor my sister's work in theatre and voice-overs, and her love of art, dance and entertainment in general.”
SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams added, “Beki’s family established a scholarship program in San Francisco in her honor in recognition of her career as a nurse. We are very fortunate they have chosen the SAG Foundation as the recipient of the Beki Pastor Fund in recognition of her other love—acting.”
The fund will primarily support the foundation’s LifeRaft program, which offers free industry seminars to union performers.
