Joan Baker, Voiceover Actor, Teacher, Spokesperson, and Author
Joan Baker is the author of "Secrets of Voiceover Success," compelling stories of the top voiceover actors in the industry, including the one and only Don LaFontaine and many more. All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Foundation.
She is also co-creator and co-host of That's Voiceover!, an interactive, behind-the-scenes career event where the top talents in the voiceover industry reveal the practical steps to establishing and sustaining a career in this highly rewarding and intriguing field.
As a voice actor, her clients include ABC Daytime, HLN, CNN, TBS, and many more. Joan has been spotlighted in feature articles in The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Back Stage, Media Week, Adweek, and Broadcasting & Cable, to mention a few.
Joan won a Telly Award this year for narrating a documentary, called "The Power of Saying Yes," for the Little Baby Face Foundation.
Rudy Gaskins, Chief Creative Officer, Push Creative Advertising
Emmy Award winner and CEO of Push Creative Advertising, creator of the That's Voiceover! event, Rudy Gaskins has directed the vocal musings of Barbara Walters, Bob Costas, Peter Jennings, Nancy Grace, Marv Albert, and Johnnie Cochran. Clients include NBC Sports, History Channel, American Express, and Lexus.
John McKinney, Casting Director, Pomann Sound
As casting director for Pomann Sound, John McKinney routinely casts and directs voiceover talent for national TV and radio spots as well as occasional film and animation. Recent clients include Verizon, Heineken, Castro, Fisher-Price, and Michelob.
Prior to his position at Pomann, John spent over 20 years as an advertising creative, writing and casting national TV and radio campaigns for major New York ad agencies, including Grey, LCF&L, and Gotham. When not casting commercials, John also works as a voice coach and voiceover demo producer.
Lorna Rainey, Agent and Owner, The Talent Express
Lorna Rainey started the Talent Express to fill the void of talent representation outside NYC proper. She pooled a strong roster of on-camera spokespersons and voiceover announcers to serve the needs of the production companies in Long Island.
She has been involved in many areas of the voice industry, including voiceover coaching, casting, radio continuity, remote broadcasting, on-camera interviewing, and copywriting.
In 2007, Lorna formed Legacy Management & Entertainment LLC as a vehicle through which to represent authors, writers, and other specialized industry types. Also in 2007, Lorna published her first book, a novel titled "Native Intelligence."
