Ken Davenport, producer of Altar Boyz and The Awesome 80s Prom, is looking for songwriters to submit work for My First Time, a new Off-Broadway production about people's initial sexual experiences.

The play with music is based on the website MyFirstTime.com, where visitors post stories about losing their virginity. The website reads like Penthouse Forum minus the copyediting (hey, it was research), but the play will take its cue from The Vagina Monologues.

"There are thousands upon thousands of incredible unsigned bands all over the world like Red Wanting Blue, Colourslide, and Hasting," Davenport said in a news release. "And these bands haven't been given the opportunities to be heard, just like there were thousands upon thousands of stories on the website on which My First Time is based. It's time we listen to both."

Davenport is also in discussions with Sh-K Boom Records about releasing a CD compilation. Songwriters are encouraged to submit previously recorded tunes or to create new ones. Go to www.myfirsttimetheplay.com/songsearch.
