Barry Sonnenfeld is staying in the belly of the beast. The director has signed on to become an executive producer of the upcoming ABC comedy series "Notes From the Underbelly," from Warner Bros. Television and the Tannenbaum Co.
Sonnenfeld directed the pilot of the comedy, which revolves around an expectant couple and their friends.
On the series, Sonnenfeld will serve as executive producer alongside writer Stacy Traub, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum. He also will direct episodes of the show, which is based on the book by Risa Green.
"Notes," starring Jennifer Westfeldt and Peter Cambor, is slated to air in the Thursday 8:30 p.m. slot in the fall.
Sonnenfeld's series credits include ABC's "Karen Sisco" and "Maximum Bob" and Fox's "The Tick."
On the big screen, he most recently directed the Robin Williams comedy "RV."
Sonnenfeld is repped by CAA and attorney Melanie Cook of Ziffren, Brittenham, Branca, Fischer, Gilbert-Lurie, Stiffelman & Cook.
