St. Clare's Hospital, which has served the Broadway community for 64 years, continues its commitment with a variety of new services, upgrades and new openings.
In addition to a $45 million renovation to the midtown structure, St. Clare's has opened two new Family Health Centers in 1998, one on 481 Ft. Washington Ave. and another on 571 Academy St.--both of which provide the same primary care and specialty services available in the midtown Family Health Center.
Since 1995, the original Family Health Center has provided Free Health Talks through its physician staff, state-of-the-art, multi-lingual facilities for adults and children and specialty services to the community ranging from allergy and asthma management to cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology and podiatry.
Since December, free HIV Counseling and Testing has also been provided. The Spellman Center at St. Clare's was the first New York State designated HIV/AIDS treatment center.
