SPEAKER BIO

Gerry Katzman

Gerry Katzman received the Back Stage 2011 L.A. Readers' Choice Award for favorite comedy teacher and the 2010 L.A. Readers' Choice Award for favorite comedy class/teacher.

His students include writers from "Ellen" and "Friends," multiple comedy-contest winners, and the stars of TV shows including "Spartacus" on Starz and "The Ex-List" on CBS. Katzman's students have been featured on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Ellen," "Last Comic Standing," and "Chelsea Lately."

In addition to acting on every major television network (with appearances on shows such as CBS's "JAG," the WB's "Angel," and Comedy Central's "Important Things With Demetri Martin"), Katzman was the head writer–creator of the "So You Think You Can Dance" animated recap for Fox.com, and he has hosted the Emmys for MSN.com, the Oscars for Hollywood.com, and "The Dirty Sexy Podcast" for ABC.com.
