Submissions are now being accepted for the 2013 Streamy Awards, which aim to honor the best online video content and web series.
The third annual Streamy Awards will be held Feb. 17, 2013, at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, Calif. The show will stream live online.
Awards are given in 37 categories, including best series as well as writing and directing, performance, and technical achievements for all genres of web series and live streaming content. Two Audience Choice Awards are determined by public voting.
Entries will be accepted until Oct. 15, and nominees will be announced in December.
Winners are chosen by the Streamy Awards "Blue Ribbon Panel" of invited content creators, performers, executives, and journalists. Past Streamy Award winners include Joss Whedon, Felicia Day, William Shatner, Rosario Dawson, Neil Patrick Harris, Paul Rudd, and more.
The Streamys were created in 2009 by executive producers Drew Baldwin and Joshua Cohen of Tubefilter, but went on hiatus after the 2010 ceremony, which was interrupted by streakers and also drew criticism for technical problems. Now Tubefilter is partnering with Dick Clark Productions to relaunch the show in 2013, with hopes of reaching a wider mainstream audience.
