The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced Nov. 8 that the call for submissions is now open for its sixth annual Television Academy Honors.
According to the Academy, “the Television Academy Honors celebrates and recognizes ‘television with a conscience’—television programming that inspires, informs, motivates, and even has the power to change lives.”
Network, cable, and online programming that aired from Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2012 is eligible. The first entry deadline, for programming that originally aired between Jan. 1–Oct. 31, 2012, is Dec. 14. The second entry deadline, for programming that originally aired between Nov. 1–Dec. 31, 2012, is Jan. 14.
The 2013 honorees will be announced March 11 and the sixth Television Academy Honors awards ceremony will be held in May (date TBA).
Past honorees have included “Glee,” “The Big C,” “Law & Order: SVU,” reality shows like “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution,” Morgan Spurlock’s documentary series “30 Days,” and more.
