"The Hunger Games," Lionsgate's highly-anticipated film version of the popular young adult novel, decimated the competition with an astonishing $155 million this weekend. This gross makes it the third-largest movie opening ever, falling behind 2011's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" at $169.2 million and 2008's "The Dark Knight" with $158.4 million. In addition, "Hunger" qualifies as the highest-opening nonsequel film.
