Michael Leavitt, Fox Theatricals, Hal Luftig, in association with Anita Waxman, Stewart Lane, Dede Harris, and Whoopi Goldberg, is holding Equity chorus auditions for dancers who sing for the upcoming Broadway production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie." Richard Morris and Dick Scanlon, book; Jeanine Tesori, new music; Dick Scanlon, new lyrics; Michael Mayer, dir.; Rob Ashford, choreo.; Michael Rafter, musical dir.; Jim Carnahan, casting dir. Auditions will be held at Chelsea Studios, 151 W. 26 St., 6th fl., NYC. Be warmed up and ready to dance at the times given. Women should bring character shoes with heels and tap shoes. Men should bring jazz shoes and tap shoes. Prepare either an uptempo or ballad from the 1930s that best shows off your voice and range. The musical director will also vocalize you. Bring sheet music. Bring pix & resumes. Pianist will be provided. Dancers may be called back in the afternoon to sing. First rehearsal: summer; opens in the fall.
