Dax Shepard, Efren Ramirez and Harland Williams have joined the cast of the Dane Cook-Jessica Simpson starrer "Employee of the Month" for Lionsgate Films.
Greg Coolidge will make his feature directorial debut on the film, which centers on best friends (Cook and Shepard) who work in a Costco-like store and meet a hot new cashier (Simpson) who prefers ambitious men. The men begin an all-out war to become the store's next employee of the month in order to impress her. Ramirez and Williams will play store employees.
Chris Conroy and Don Calame wrote the screenplay, while Coolidge penned a rewrite.
Lionsgate is producing alongside Tapestry Films' Andrew Panay, Peter Abrams and Robert Levy. Panay will oversee for Tapestry, while Lionsgate's Michael Paseornek and John Sacchi will shepherd for the studio.
Principal photography begins Wednesday in Santa Fe, N.M.
Shepard, whose credits include "Zathura" and "Cheaper by the Dozen," recently sold the comedy pitch "Get 'Em Wet" to Paramount Pictures as a starring vehicle. He is repped by Endeavor and attorney Jamie Feldman.
Ramirez, who starred as sidekick Pedro in "Napoleon Dynamite," appears in the upcoming Jack Black comedy "Nacho Libre."
Comedy veteran Williams, whose credits include "There's Something About Mary" and "Dumb & Dumber," is repped by APA, manager Chris Fenton and attorney Kevin Marks.
