The premium cable network has a half-hour comedy, titled "Players," in development from Hanks and his long-time producing partner and Playtone co-founder Gary Goetzman. The project follows the lives of college athletes.
James Evans and Darryl Scott will serve as producers on the project, with Hanks and Goetzman attached as executive producers.
"Players" marks a reunion for HBO and the EPs. The duo was behind acclaimed miniseries "Band of Brothers," "John Adams" and "The Pacific," all of which earned Emmy awards, as well as long-running HBO drama, "Big Love."
