Golden Globe–winning actor Uma Thurman recently joined volunteers in Give-a-Hug, an initiative that provides hundreds of toy bears to children hospitalized at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. The program is supported by Build-a-Bear Workshop and Children of Bellevue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding endeavors to improve the health of the hospital's pediatric patients.
Throughout the year, Bellevue Hospital caregivers and volunteers like Thurman will hand out bears to youngsters. Children of Bellevue hopes these acts of generosity will inspire people to become more involved in donating their time and resources to the hospital.
