USA Network has promoted the executive responsible for overseeing production on some of its top series, including “Monk” and “Necessary Roughness.”
Michael Sluchan, who develops and oversees production on new shows for the network, has been handed the title of senior vice president, original scripted programming, the cable network announced Monday.
“Michael is a truly talented executive with vast relationships in the creative community and an incredible ability to nurture the types of writers and producers we love to work with,” Bill McGoldrick, executive vice president, original scripted programming, said in a statement.
Since joining the network in 1999, Sluchan has overseen a number of successful series, including “Royal Pains,” “The Starter Wife” with Debra Messing, and the limited event series “Political Animals,” which boasted a cast that included Sigourney Weaver and Ciarán Hinds.
In addition to his work at USA, Sluchan serves as a governor at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the Television Executive Peer Group.
